How To Lower The Brightness On Windows 7 Desktop

Hullo, I have turned downwards the brightness and contrast through the buttons on my monitor the everyman information technology can go, but its not dim enough. I accept googled around the identify, and information technology seems that windows 7 for desktops doesn't have any functionality that allows yous to turn down the brightness/contrast through the OS? Does anyone know how I tin can plough my brightness/dissimilarity downward further?

go to control console, appearance and personalisation, on the left there should be a menu, click adjust brightness there should exist a bar at the lesser where yous tin adapt the effulgence.

In the bottom right of the task bar do you have some graphic selection? Like Nvidia/intel control panel?

no its a custom built pc, I have an AMD Radeon 6800 series graphics card, and asrock motherboard 970 (something like that) , and I cant find any info on how to turn the brightness down with any of them

You should accept something called amd catalyst command panel. You lot can modify settings on there. Information technology should be in the bottom correct already running if you haven't disabled information technology in msconfig

Elliotttt is right, but if you lot are using a desktop then it'southward is more benign if you lot were to turn the brightness down the monitor it cocky. P.s MsConfig does null much, best to utilise manufacture software.

type in "windows mobility heart" in the beginning menu - that's got a slider where you can change the brightness

It does, I just prefer using the windows mobility centre - I normally have it open (but minimised) only because shows the volume and battery per centum too it's very convenient
